Module 1

Marine and coastal ecosystems: typology, role and importance ➜ In this first module, you will be introduced to the basics of marine and coastal ecosystems, their exceptional biodiversity and the challenges of their preservation.

Module 2

Gender equality, climate justice and conservation of marine and coastal resources ➜ This second module lays the foundations of gender equality and its importance on the issues of climate justice and conservation of marine and coastal biodiversity.

Module 3

Sustainable Blue Economy ➜ In this module, we will introduce you to the fundamental principles of the sustainable blue economy, as well as ways to integrate local communities into economic activities in an fair and sustainable manner.

Module 4

Ecological and socio-economic surveillance and monitoring ➜ In this module, you will learn about tools for monitoring and surveillance of MPA monitoring in order to promote the health of marine and coastal ecosystems, protect biodiversity and preserve habitats.

Module 5

Climate resilience of marine protected areas ➜ This module will help you understand the challenges associated with climate change and the role that marine protected areas can play in mitigating and adapting to these changes.

Environmental Education and Community Engagement ➜ In this module, we will share community engagement strategies and techniques for improving environmental awareness.

You must have completed the entire course and passed the final assessments of the 7 modules with a minimum result of 70%

A selection committee will contact you once you have successfully completed the course. The committee will ensure that participants are representative in terms of origin, age and gender.
